The Latin phrase CONTEMPLARE MELIORA, meaning literally “To envisage better things”, refers to a line from George Bernard Shaw’s play Back to Methuselah (Part I, Act I): “You see things; and you say, ‘Why?’ But I dream things that never were; and I say, ‘Why not? ’”.
